LONG AWAITED ALBUM TO BE DEDICATED on Sunday 16th December 2012 "SELAH by Mr. Peculiar

"Until Now," Mr. Peculiar's album "SELAH",  to be released on the 16th of December 2012. It's lead singles, "Ka isa yabo," remained the talk of the most recent and a symbol of true worship.
In a press release about the Album Launch "SELAH", Mr.Peculiar provided some clues as to the direction of this 2nd album. "I am very happy with how the album turned out," he commented. "The music has a similar vibe to 'hero-worship' and 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best for now."
Added Ebenezer Irene and Jeremiah Gyang (producers): "The album has a very organic and direct feel to it. It's not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe. During the recording process we really tried to get the elements of performing and the live show into the album more."
Speaking to Musicbox in November, Ebenezer said "Mr. Peculiar was very prolific" in the sessions for this album and had already written several songs. "I'm excited about where this one's going," he said at the time. "I think it's going to be a more direct record, a punchier record."
"In the album SELAH, I can not predict the hit tracks because after much plays and replays of the ten tracks album I could not place my mind on a perticuliar track and name it the hit of the album" Benard Malson "just grab a copy and choose your hit track".

1. Ka isa yabo - "I had said I really hadn't emotionally felt like I could write a slower song with a blend of hausa language," Mr. Peculiar told Sort Magazine in November of "Ka isa yabo," the first and slowest song written for Selah Album- the track came almost too quickly Mr. Peculiar said he was initially not comfortable until the holy spirit comfirmed the track with signs and words from close friends.
2.    What a friend -is the second song in the album with an opening keyboard riff worthy of New Order that will track your patient to spend the rest of the time the song lasted, it's  been masterminded with a little rocky touch and  quasi of Ka isa yabo. "One more concert/ one more weekend /one more worship night/ You're my connector," Chris Victor pleads.
3.  You are remebered - Slowing things down just a tad ("you are remembered," Mr. Peculiar Sings), this track has a laid-back vibe reminiscent of great heros from time past," and serves as more of what will you be remembered for when you leave this world.
6. Karbi daukaka - Another jittery, percussive hit destined to make many set lists, "Karbi daukaka" explores reasons to praise God, ultimately accelerating to an end-of-song key with a bass line that most move your feet and force your chin to strike your chest within intervals as the kick of the song beats.Mr. Peculiar begging, "I want to look down in your eyes / I want to take off your disguise." I just want you to praise my father (God) and dance like David did.
7. Amazin change - Perhaps the album's most immediate calypso song, "Amazin change " is introduced with a keyboard curlicue straight out of "Mapis Empire," then a piano loop that could've been borrowed from a Don Meon (mi carazon) single but in a fast tempo this time before jumping into a New Wave groove of Amazing change. "It's hard to write this kind of song without sounding cheesy but The music going along with it has to not be cheesy." Mr. Peculiar said.

Additional tour and album details will become available in the coming weeks.

"A question Trip to my FANS" Dan Balat

A perfect table-setter for what's to come, "HANU WOFI" is a question trip to the band's diehard fans. It doesn't have a giant hook or much riff that's going to set reggae music aflame the way previous hits did, but serves more as a warning to longtime fans that on the last day we are expected to come to our creator with a harvest after life well spent here on earth.... Karbi Daukaka "A smash Hit"

A song worthy of the handclaps that introduce it, "Karbi Daukaka" is another blend of hausa and english language gospel song that Mr Peculiar manage to un-treacle ever so slightly, "Forgive me if I'm being yokelish/ blame my ever-changing mood.
Karbi Daukaka" is absolutely No Doubt's with chanting like the Arabs and cascading drums that deserve to be played while running through the hallways of your high school, the balcony of your house or a stand up praise service in your church and a bridge of hausa rap by Maquin big enough for a golf club."Karbi Daukaka" is a satisfying coda from the Album "SELAH" coming your way soon by Mr Peculiar, a band whose career is just about to crescendo again.
